Enter the cleft once more, Climb down the hanging bridge. Climb up that bridge and leave the cleft by climbing up the stairs and the ladder. Walk towards the opposite hanging bridge. Leave the room and just jump down from the ledge to end up at the bottom of the cleft again. Climb up the stairs back to the other room. Remember that out of use windmill next to the cleft. Notice the big shaft leading up through the ceiling. Walk down the stairs at the end of the room. You can push whatever you want but nothing works yet. Step down at the left side of that small platform. Carefully step down the platform and cross the wooden planks. Look down and notice three wooden planks leading to the opposite side. Turn to the right and walk to the end of the platform. Leave the room and enter the other dark room. Read the letter that is laying on the bed. Turn to the right and enter the lit room. Turn to the right and notice another bridge hanging down from the wall. now you're standing at the bottom of the cleft. That is as far as you can before it will collapse. Walk to the other bridge and walk across the bridge. Notice that one of them is missing some planks at the end. Walk down the stairs until you are standing on the platform with the two bridges. Walk around the cleft and enter it by climbing down the ladder. Notice the windmill standing near the cleft. Touch the third hand sign to activate it. Nearby you'll find a skeleton of one of the sea creatures out of Riven. The first item you'll see is a destroyed telescope you've seen earlier in good old Riven. You'll see something lying around in the distance. Touch the second hand sign and now two parts will blink. Walk around the trailer and notice another hand sign. If you got stuck you can also ask him for vital clues. If you want to hear his story again just speak to him. It turns out to be a guy called Jeff Zandi. Walk towards the trailer and speak with the man in front of the trailer. Notice that there's a trailer in the distance. Turn around and walk towards the right side of the volcano. Touch the first hand sign and notice that a part of the sign will blink. Walk around the sign and you'll see some kind of hand sign at the back.

Turn around and walk towards the sign next to the closed fence. For example, should I focus on the starting area, or should I first travel deeper into the islands? What is my first tangible objective (eg.You begin your quest standing in the desert. I want to experience this game as intended, but I only need to be nudged into the right direction to put the gameplay into the right context. Is each puzzle self-contained, or do I need to achieve something elsewhere, then come back? If they constitute a puzzle, I can't figure out why I need to solve it. Some are locked in place, others produce no immediate effect. So far I've been walking around the islands, riding rollercoasters, pressing buttons and flicking switches at random. It seems you can explore much of this huge Age right from the start, and apart from the general objective given to me in the introductory FMV sequence, I've no idea where to start. However, I've barely started a new game and already I feel overwhelmed. After a streak of fast-paced RPGs, I'm now in the mood for a slow adventure, and Riven seems like a good choice. The Ages in that game were small and self-contained, and there was always a clear objective in each one. After some initial confusion, I figured out what to do in the beginning.
